OUR PHILOSOPHY: "TRAINING THROUGH UNDERSTANDING" WHAT DOES IT MEAN? |
Building a Relationship -
Our philosophy about training is one that emphasizes an education for both canine and human that will
help build a loving relationship between them.
Our dogs depend on us for understanding, leadership and guidance. They do not speak English (or Spanish
or German) and cannot tell us what they need, so it is our responsibility to learn how to understand them
and to show them how to live in our world. To meet these needs we need a communication system with our
dogs.
We need a common language. Obedience Training is the language through which the dog learns
to accept and give communication. Through patience and positive training, we can build a loving and respectful
relationship by understanding our animals and their needs and teaching them their roles in our lives.

COMMUNICATION TEACHES A DOG HOW TO LEARN. BOTH COMPANIONS (HUMAN & CANINE) NEED A COMMON
LANGUAGE |
In training, a dog goes through the same building block steps a child does in his education. Early
communication and education helps build language. We begin with Puppy Pre-School (simple language and
social skills), then move to basic obedience and further into advanced work as the dog and owner become
more proficient in their language.
Obedience training also establishes the communication basis from which to solve other problems. Obedience
training turns your dog into a "thinking being" instead of one who acts on impulse. As a dog owner, your
frustration is gone since the training not only corrects problem behaviors but also helps you to prevent
behavior problems from occurring!

OBEDIENCE COMMANDS ARE TEACHING TOOLS |

While obedience commands are practical they are not just "tricks" that simply look pretty when your dog
performs them. Obedience commands teach concepts to your dog.
 |
Commands teach the dog the rules and manners of the household through a system based on
leadership and respect.
|
 |
Commands and training illustrate the clarity and expectations of the rules.
|
 |
Distraction training builds mental discipline and teaches your dog how to behave in all
situations with all levels of distraction. Distraction training also teaches owners how to handle their
dog in all situations and all levels of distraction.
|
 |
Most importantly, training teaches your dog how to get PRAISE! |

PROFESSIONAL TRAINING BUILDS RELATIONSHIPS.
 |
Through the motivation and praise for successes, the dog happily begins to understand how to communicate
with us on a very positive level and learns what is acceptable in our world.
As more understanding builds, self-confidence grows within the dog (and within the owner). Anxiety is
gone because both beings understand each other through the new communication channels. The relationship
between the owner and dog companion can continue into a strong bond of respect. The well-trained dog is
a pleasure to live with. And the well-educated owner is also a joy for the dog to live with!
You and your well-trained dog set an example of companionship and communication based on patience,
understanding and mutual respect.
YOUR DOG NEEDS A BALANCE OF ELEMENTS IN HIS LIFE TO BE
RELAXED, WELL MANNERED, RESPECTFUL & HAPPY. |
Your dog's behavior isn't JUST about an obedience training class....it's much, much more. Obedience training is
only the beginning! A happy dog ensures a happy owner and a happy relationship.
